The Certified Cryptocurrency investigator™ (CCI)

CCI Training gives you the knowledge needed to investigate money laundering, fraud, any criminal activity involving crypto.

Developed by a federal investigator and a BSA officer, the CCI is designed for law enforcement, finance, risk and compliance professionals who want an understanding of cryptocurrencies and how they are used for illegal activity. 

The course is online and self-paced. Pass all five modules and a final exam to earn the CCI designation. Trainees are awarded the CCI certificate which is recognized globally as a mark of proficiency in crypto investigations. 

CCI (Module 1-5)

• CCI Module 1 - Introduction to Cryptocurrency: Gain a firm understanding of what cryptocurrency is, how it works, and how it can be used in both legitimate and illicit activities.
• CCI Module 2 - The Bitcoin Trail: Explore the different types of cryptocurrency, mining, the double spend problem, 51% attacks, and how to buy and use Bitcoin.
• CCI Module 3 - Cryptocurrency and the Criminal Element: Learn about common crimes where cryptocurrency is involved, peer-to-peer exchanges, and investigation tips.
• CCI Module 4 - The Dark Web: Examine how dark web marketplaces and cryptocurrencies work together and how they translate into the physical world.
• CCI Module 5 - Blockchain Forensics: Familiarize yourself with the intricacies of blockchain technology and explore analytical tools for investigating these crimes.

CCIA (Module 6 - 10)

• CCIA Module 6 - Cryptocurrency Concepts: Learn advanced cryptocurrency analysis like clustering methods. Explore the many ways in which crypto users can leverage blockchain to cover their tracks.

• CCIA Module 7 - Dex and DeFi: Acquire a fundamental understanding of the key components of DeFi and how they operate.
• CCIA Module 8 - Advanced Ethereum Training (3 sections): Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Ethereum network to supercharge your investigations. This module will introduce the potentially vast utilization of Ethereum, how Ethereum aids DeFi, Ethereum clustering techniques, and more.
